Blue Westerfield

This blue Westerfield was one of the nicer two seaters driving around the track. There were several of these around some better looked after than others.

AC Cobra Montage

A well deserved montage for this fine example of an AC Cobra.

Mustang

At about 1pm a low rumbling sound could be heard from about 200 miles away. A short while later, in to the gates rolled this Mustang. Rui could hardly believe his eyes. This was a car he liked. Indeed, it was a beautiful sounding engine with more than likely about 57 Litres of American muscle throbbing underneath the never ending bonnet (erm sorry..er Hood?). Shame the colour was so bland.

Single Seater

This single seater came out onto the track at the end of the meet. With a "Stig" lookalike at the wheel it made everything that had gone before look like pedal cars.

Bug

This photo saw me leaning precariously over the fence trying (and failing) to get a macro shot of this little bug. Too far away for macro and too close for normal.

His and Hers

I noticed these two Westerfields pull up at one point. His and hers...nice!!!!

Civic Type R

Rui seemed to think that this was the fastest car on the day. I thought the single seater was, but then again, I know little about cars!!!

AC Cobra on Track

This is not the same as the other Cobra featured here. This one was slightly older and at least went on the track.

Impreza

Thgis Subaru Impreza was put through it's paces on several occasions.

Caterham Closeup

Close up of one of the Caterhams

Purple Westerfield

A very clean example of a Westerfield arrives at the meet. This one did not go out on the track, i think the owner was concerned about it getting damaged...or dirty!!!

Foreground Grass

There was a lot of foreground grass in my pictures today!

Shiny Westerfield

A very shiny and clean Westerfield arrives at the meet.

Rui Watching

Rui, who is soon to be a father, went with me to Curborough. Actually it was he who found the track in the first place several weeks ago.

Caterham

This red and yellow Caterham was one of my favourites. Very well maintained and colourful to watch speeding round the track.

Two Seater

Two seater..featuring..foreground grass!

Old Sign

This old sign was found at one end of the track.

AC Cobra Raw

This fine example of a kit version of an AC Cobra strolled in to the meeting at around midday. We spoke to the owner who said that he was taking it down to Le Mans in the next few weeks along with about 17 of his mates. The owner was obviously very proud of it and was happy for us to have a look and take some photos.

Rallying Escort

This MKII Ford Escort went round the sprint circuit only a couple of times but with impressive speed compared to some of the newer vehicles there. The interior had been completely stripped out, roll cage and racing seats added.

Nissan Skyline

Now, I always thought Nissan Skylines were supposed to be like lightening streaking across the tarmac. The Japaneese revered these machines and many driving games encourage the players to aspire to finding the cheats to buy one. However, trundling round the track, this was more like a sad old run down bus than a performance car.
